Like most of the people, I've always tend to dismiss Pete Doherty actuall musical skills. part of that dismissal was probably done out of my own ignorance (before arriving to London i never really heard any of his stuff), while some was done because he never really had his proper BIG musical break. Out of the British isles he was always known only for his mischiefs, a paparazzi icon, Kate Moss' junky troublesome boyfriend.
Now, at the height of his troubled life, after being dumped by Moss and after appearing for the thousandth time in court for his drug offences and getting banned out of London for a month (you must admit it's very original), Pete Doherty and the Babyshambles have released their most commercial song.
the new single is called Delivery and i like it very much, it's very coherent and reminds a lot of 'The Kinks' work. this might be Pete's crossover hit, and i really hope it makes it across the pond from MTV2 to MTV :-)
THe Babyshambles - Delivery (mp3)
The video for the single is great, shot in black and white and features Pete strolling in the streets (probably not in London :-))
